The main function of motor protection switch in mining machinery and equipment is to protect the motor from various faults and ensure the stable and reliable operation of the equipment. Specifically, the functions of the motor protection switch include:
Overload protection: When the load of the motor exceeds its rated value, the overload protection function will be triggered to cut off the power supply of the motor to prevent overheating and possible damage. This function is realized by current detection. When the detected current exceeds the predetermined value, the protector will act immediately.
Open-phase protection: monitor the current value and phase voltage changes of two-phase (three-phase) lines of the motor. When the open-phase is found, the protector will give an alarm or cut off the power supply to prevent the motor from being damaged due to the open-phase.
Short circuit protection: detect the short circuit fault in the motor winding. When a short circuit occurs, the protector will quickly cut off the power supply to prevent the winding and other electrical components from being damaged by excessive voltage.
Overvoltage and undervoltage protection: by detecting the voltage change between phases of the motor, the protector takes measures when the voltage is too high or too low to prevent the motor from being damaged due to abnormal voltage.
Leakage (grounding) protection: monitor the grounding leakage of motor coil. When leakage is detected, the protector will give an alarm or cut off the power supply to ensure the safety of equipment and operators.
Three-phase unbalance protection: detect the unbalance of the three-phase current of the motor. When the unbalance of the three-phase current exceeds the preset value, the protector will take measures to prevent the motor from being damaged due to unbalance.
Overheating protection: Monitor the running temperature of the motor. When the motor is overheated for various reasons, the protector will give an alarm or cut off the power supply to prevent the motor from being damaged due to overheating.
Bearing wear and eccentric protection of stator and rotor: By monitoring the running state of the motor, the protector can detect bearing wear and eccentric of stator and rotor, and give an alarm or take protective measures in time.
External fault protection: monitor external faults of the motor, such as motor damage caused by external equipment failure, and the protector will take timely measures to protect the motor.
Incoming call self-starting and inverse time-limit protection: when the motor is restarted after power failure, the protector can prevent the motor from instantaneous overload, and at the same time, inverse time-limit protection is set to cut off the power supply within a certain time after the fault occurs to prevent the fault from expanding.
Communication function: The communication function is added to the motor protector of the new model series, which can be remotely set, monitored and controlled by control software, thus improving the convenience of management.
