Ultrasonic sensor is a sensor that uses the characteristics of ultrasonic waves to convert ultrasonic signals into electrical signals.
According to its working principle, ultrasonic sensors can be divided into piezoelectric, magnetostrictive, electromagnetic and so on. The working principle is the piezoelectric effect of piezoelectric materials.
Commonly used ultrasonic sensors are composed of piezoelectric wafers, which can transmit and receive ultrasonic waves. Low-power ultrasonic probes are mostly used for detection.
Ultrasonic sensor uses acoustic medium to detect the detected object in a non-contact and wear-free way. Ultrasonic sensors can detect transparent or colored objects, metallic or nonmetallic objects, solid, liquid and powdery substances. Its detection performance is almost unaffected by any environmental conditions, including smoke and dust environment and rainy days.
The ultrasonic sensor is mainly composed of the following four parts:
`Transmitter: The vibrator (usually ceramic, with a diameter of about 15 mm) vibrates to generate ultrasonic waves and radiate them into the air.
`Receiver: When the vibrator receives the ultrasonic wave, it generates corresponding mechanical vibration according to the ultrasonic wave and converts it into electrical energy as the output of the receiver.
`Control part: By using integrated circuit to control the ultrasonic transmission of the transmitter, and judge whether the receiver receives the signal (ultrasonic wave) and the size of the received signal.
`Power supply: the ultrasonic sensor is usually powered by an external DC power supply with a voltage of DC12V 10% or 24V 10%, and is supplied to the sensor through an internal voltage stabilizing circuit.
