Elastic gaskets in mining machinery and equipment mainly refer to spring washers, and their functions are as follows:
Prevent the nut from loosening: the spring washer prevents the nut from rotating in the spiral direction after tightening through its elasticity and bevel friction, thus avoiding the nut from loosening.
Shock-proof: in the case of vibration load or alternating load, the spring washer can absorb vibration energy and reduce fastener looseness caused by vibration.
Increase the connection stability: after the nut is tightened, the spring washer makes the triangular screw thread in the nut closely fit with the triangular screw thread of the bolt through its pre-tension, and prevents the nut from loosening by friction. The ordinary washer plays a supporting role, increasing the pressing area of the pre-tightening force of the spring washer and further improving the stability of the connection.
Protect the surface of the workpiece: the spring washer can be flattened during tightening, thus protecting the surface of the workpiece from being scratched or damaged.
Low cost and convenient installation: the spring washer is low in cost and convenient to install and disassemble, and is suitable for parts that are frequently assembled and disassembled.
Although the spring washer has many advantages, its anti-loosening ability is relatively low, so it has been replaced by other more reliable anti-loosening devices in the connection parts of important load-bearing structures. When high locking performance is needed, other types of washers or fasteners can be considered, such as stop washers, hexagon slotted nuts and cotter pins.
