Relay is an electric control device, which has a control system (also called input loop) and a controlled system (also called output loop). It is usually used in automatic control circuits, and it is actually an "automatic switch" that uses a small current to control a large current. It is an automatic device that changes the controlled quantity in a predetermined step or changes the on-off state of the controlled circuit when the input quantity (excitation quantity) reaches a specified value.
Relays are generally composed of electromagnets, springs, electrical contacts, etc., which are used to protect devices, automatic control systems and electrical appliances in communication equipment. They are usually used to transmit signals and control multiple circuits at the same time, and can also be directly used to control small-capacity motors or other electrical actuators.
When the input quantity (such as voltage, current, temperature, etc.) reaches the specified value, the controlled output circuit is turned on or off. It can be divided into two categories: electrical relays (such as current, voltage, frequency, power, etc.) and non-electrical relays (such as temperature, pressure, speed, etc.). It has the advantages of fast action, stable work, long service life and small size.
